Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor, who is leading the all -party delegation, confirmed the withdrawal of controversial statements from Bogota after meeting Colombia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Vilaviseyo. Seven all -party delegations of Indian MPs are traveling to various countries to make India aware of the stance of India after the Pahalgam attack on 22 April.
Shashi Tharoor is leading a delegation on a trip to Colombia to convey the support of Pakistan with the support of Pakistan and not tolerate terrorism. Shashi Tharoor said that Columbia did not understand the attitude of India first, but after a conversation with the country’s Foreign Ministry, Colombia withdrew his old statement. Earlier, Shashi Tharoor expressed disappointment on the loss of life and property in Pakistan after India’s military action.
Tharoor was disappointed with the government’s response
Tharoor had emphasized that India’s response was a matter of self -defense, not aggression. He said, “We were a bit disappointed with the reaction of the Colombian government, which expressed his heartfelt condolences to the loss of life and property in Pakistan after Indian attacks instead of expressing sympathy to the victims of terrorism.”

In Bogota, the Indian delegation also met Elejandro Toro and Chairman of the Second Commission of the Chamber of Representatives (equivalent of the Parliamentary Committee of India) and Chairman of the Chamber of Representatives (equivalent of Lok Sabha Speaker) Jamie Raul Salamanka.
Colombia also held a meeting with senior officials
Shashi Tharoor wrote on X, “Both dignitaries fully understood our stance and expressed strong support for India’s right to protect their territory and their sovereignty.” The delegation also held a meeting with senior officials of the Columbia Council for International Relations.
The nine -member delegation from Tharoor has traveled to Guyana and Panama before reaching Colombia on Thursday. The delegation included Tejashwi Surya (BJP) Bhubaneswar Kalita (BJP), Milind Devra (Shiv Sena), Shambhavi (Lok Janshakti Party), GM Harish Balayogi (Telugu Desam Party) and former India Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu in America.
Now this delegation will go to Brazil
The delegation from Colombia will go to Brazil. It will go to America in the final phase of its visit to five countries. In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India had made accurate attacks on nine terrorist structures in Pakistan, after which Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10.
The Indian side strongly responded to the Pakistani attacks by causing heavy damage to many major Pakistani military establishments including airports, air defense systems, command and control centers and strengths. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced on May 10 that it has been agreed to stop all types of military actions between India and Pakistan.
