Shaun Pollock On Slow SA20 Pitches: The pitches being used during the South African League SA20 are facing criticism due to their slowness. Meanwhile, Pretoria Capitals assistant coach Shaun Pollock has said that such a pitch will only help the players in preparing for the T20 World Cup to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from next month. In the second half of the current season of this tournament, only MI Cape Town team was able to cross the 200-run mark, because many times the players were seen struggling to play big shots.

Polak gave statement after the team reached the final

Sunrisers Eastern Cape has reached the final after defeating Pretoria Capitals by seven wickets in the first qualifier. After this, Pollock said while talking to Indian journalists, ‘To be honest, some of the pitches at the end of this tournament are good for the preparation of the players going for the World Cup because the ball is stopping and spinning.’

He further said, ‘During my time of playing, we were used to playing on fast pitches on which the ball came out fast, but we have seen spin being very effective (in the last few matches), so the players who are playing, it will probably help them prepare for the T20 World Cup.’

Pollock talked about the pitch of 2027 World Cup

Shaun Pollock believes that in view of such pitches, there is no need to worry about the ODI World Cup to be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in the year 2027 because there is still a lot of time to prepare the pitch for this tournament to be held in October-November. Pollock further said, ‘The pitches will be completely different at that stage. You have plenty of time to prepare them. I am not worried.
