Shehbaz sharif message to India: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday (May 28, 2025) reiterated his desire to talk with India and said that the two sides should sit together and solve all issues including Kashmir, water and terrorism. Sharif made this comment while addressing the Pakistan-Turkia-Ajarbaijan tripartite summit in Lachin, Azerbaijan, which also included President Rajab Tayyab Erdoan Erdoan and Ilham Aliyev.

This was the second statement of Shahbaz to emphasize the talks between India and Pakistan this week. Sharif said on Monday (26 May 2025) in Tehran that he is ready to talk with India to ‘resolve all controversies’. India has made it clear that it will talk with Pakistan only on the return of Pakistan -occupied Kashmir and the issue of terrorism.

Shahbaz Sharif said- We should sit together for peace and talk

‘Dawn’ newspaper said at the tripartite summit in Lachin, “We should talk together for peace … there are issues that need immediate attention and they should be resolved through conversation.” He said, “I have said politely that we want peace in the area. For this, we should talk on issues that need immediate attention and a cordial solution, this is the issue of Kashmir which is according to the United Nations and Security Council proposals and according to the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

‘Pakistan ready to talk about terrorism with India’

Shahbaz Sharif said, “I have said seriously that if India wants to talk honestly for the purpose of combating terrorism, Pakistan is ready to talk to India on this issue too.” Sharif also expressed her desire to resume trade with India. He also criticized India’s decision to postpone the Indus Water Treaty and said that it is a lifeline for the people of Pakistan for their agricultural use, drinking water and many other purposes.

Stress increased after Pahalgam attack between the two countries

After the Pahalgam attack on 22 April, tension between India and Pakistan increased. 26 people lost their lives in the attack. India launched accurate attacks on the terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir on the night of 6 May. After this, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on 8, 9 and 10 May. The Indian side strongly responded to Pakistani actions. On May 10, it was agreed to stop military actions after negotiations between the Director General of Military Operations of both sides.
