Bangladesh News: Once again, instability seems to be increasing in Bangladesh. Tension has come out between the student leaders and Bangladesh army leading the ongoing agitation against Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka. The leaders of the new National Citizen Party (NCP) formed by Nahid Islam, who played an important role in the anti -Hasina movement, have made serious allegations against the military leadership. He has stated the need to re -launch Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League with a new name. These allegations have come up at a time when the deployment of the army in Dhaka has been increased.

On Thursday, Bangladesh Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus said that there is no plan to ban Awami League, but the people associated with its leadership will be prosecuted under crime against humanity. Just a day later, on Friday, NCP leader Hasanat Abdullah made serious allegations against the military leadership through a Facebook post and said that an attempt was being made to re -establish the Awami League.

Secret meeting revealed with military officials

In his post, Abdullah mentioned a secret meeting with military officers in the cantonment area on 11 March. He said that during this meeting, it was proposed to form a new Awami League under the leadership of Sabar Hussain Chaudhary, Shirin Sharmin Chaudhary and Fazle Noor Taposh during this meeting. Abdullah called it a clear intention to re -establish the Awami League by the army.

India accused of conspiracy

Abdullah described the return of Awami League in his post as India’s conspiracy. Referring to the agitation against Sheikh Hasina government in July last year, he said, ‘Your powerful movement was successful in thwarting the conspiracies of the army and agencies. If you stand with us again today, if you take to the streets, we will again thwart this Indian conspiracy to install the Awami League.

Claim to send proposals to many parties

Hasanat Abdullah also claimed that he was asked to accept the proposal under the seat sharing agreement for the next national election. He further said that he was told in Cantonment that this proposal has already been given to many political parties and they have agreed to rehabilitate the Awami League on the basis of certain conditions. However, he did not clarify which parties these are and who contacted them.

Plan to distance away from Sheikh family

According to Abdullah, he was told that some leaders from April-May would start publicly accepting the crimes of the Sheikh family and separate themselves from Hasina. These leaders will only express loyalty to Bangabandhu’s original Awami League. He also said that he immediately turned down the proposal and demanded that the members of the Awami League be prosecuted.

Out of the leaders whom Hasanat named in his post, the former environment minister Sabar Chaudhary was released from jail after getting bail in all six cases, while Shirin Chaudhary and Fazle Noor Taposh have not been arrested yet.
