Director Shekhar Kapur, who has directed films like ‘Masoom’, ‘Mr India’ and ‘Bandit Queen’, is counted among the most visionary filmmakers of Bollywood. Along with making films, he also worked as an actor. Shekhar had inherited this skill. He is the nephew of late actor Devanand. Shekhar was born on 6 December 1945. Today he turned 80 years old.

Shekhar-Medha Gujral got divorced in the year 1994. After the failure of this marriage, in the year 1999, Shekhar married famous actress Suchitra Krishnamurthy.
Suchitra was 30 years younger than him. This marriage must have lasted for about 8-9 years. Suddenly, in the year 2006-2007, Suchitra broke relations with him, accusing him of many things. From this marriage, he had a daughter, whose name is Kaveri.
