On March 1, hundreds of people from Shia community participated in the candle march in Jor Bagh area of the capital Delhi. The march started from Dargah Shah-e-Mardan and reached Karbala, Jor Bagh, where the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was mourned.
A large number of people including children, women and elderly people had gathered in this march. Everyone’s eyes were moist and deep anger was clearly visible on their faces. The people who arrived in March burnt the effigies of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and raised loud slogans against them.

Every one of our children is crying, we have lost our leader. Will shoot Trump and Netanyahu, we want their death. Will destroy Israel and America. Just as their effigies have been burnt today, we will also burn them. Today is a dark day for us. Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawad Naqvi was the chief patron of this march organized by Anjuman-e-Hyderi, Jor Bagh.
‘It is better to die with honor than to bow before the oppressors’
Ladakh MP Haji Mohammad Hanifa Jaan had also reached this candle march, where while talking to ABP News, he said that the way the attack was carried out with deceit, it was better to accept the death of honor than to bow down before the oppressors.
