India’s all-rounder Shivam Dubey played an important role in the team’s victory by performing brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2026. However, the way he returned to Mumbai after winning the final was quite interesting. Due to not getting flight tickets for Ahmedabad, Dubey had to travel by train from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. To return home he traveled in 3rd AC coach.
Great performance in T20 World Cup
Dubey proved to be an important player for India in the T20 World Cup 2026. He played nine matches in the entire tournament and scored 235 runs. Not only this, he also took five wickets in bowling. The final match was played between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In this match, Dubey played a quick inning of 26 runs in just 8 balls. The special thing was that he added 24 runs in the last over itself, which included three fours and two sixes. Due to this strong performance, India registered a big victory and won the T20 World Cup title for the third time.
Why did you travel by train?
According to the report of The Indian Express, Dubey had to reach Mumbai as soon as possible after the final because his four-year-old son Ayaan and two-year-old daughter Mehvish were waiting for him at home, but all the flights from Ahmedabad to Mumbai were full. In such a situation, he decided to go by train.
Dubey boarded the 5:10 am train with his wife Anjum Khan and a friend. He got a ticket in 3rd AC, after which he booked immediately. However, he was also worried that no one might recognize him.
Special method adopted to hide identity
While traveling in the train, Dubey wore a cap, mask and full sleeve T-shirt to hide his identity. To avoid the huge crowd at the station, he reached the platform just five minutes before the departure of the train and quickly boarded the train. As soon as he boarded the train, he went straight to the upper berth so that many people would not notice him. During the journey, when the ticket checker came, his wife also handled the situation intelligently and did not let anyone suspect.
Had to seek police help after reaching Mumbai
Dubey told that the train journey was completed smoothly and no one could recognize him. However, he had an idea that there might be a crowd of fans after reaching Mumbai. Therefore, he contacted the police even before getting down at Borivali station so that he could reach home safely. After India’s historic victory, this simple and interesting journey of Dubey is now being discussed a lot on social media.
