However, a slight relief has been felt since Friday. The morning started with dense fog, but when the sun came out during the day, people felt better due to the mild, lukewarm sunlight. The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog and partly cloudy sky today (January 17).

According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to dense fog has been predicted in Delhi on Saturday morning. The sky will remain partly cloudy. IMD has issued yellow alert of fog in Delhi today. Due to which people may have to face problems in transportation. However, as the day progresses, there will be light sunshine which will reduce the area of ​​fog. People will feel chill due to cold winds. Cold will increase again in the evening and fog is expected.

How will the weather be in Delhi today?

According to the Meteorological Department, the people of Delhi do not seem to be getting any respite from the cold at present. The effect of shivering cold and fog will continue in the coming days. Today the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 22 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 7 degrees. The fog will reduce from Sunday. Partial cloud cover and fog have been predicted here till January 20.

Safdarjung and Aya Nagar remained the coldest

In the last 24 hours, the lowest minimum temperature of 4.3 degrees was recorded in Safdarjung and Aya Nagar areas of Delhi. Whereas the minimum temperature was 4.7 at Palam and Lodhi Road and 6.0 in Ridge area. Similar weather will prevail for the next two days. After this, a gradual increase in temperature will be seen.

The 16-year record of cold was broken in Delhi on Thursday and it was recorded as the coldest day of the season. The minimum temperature in Palam area here fell to 2.3 degrees Celsius on this day, which was 5 degrees less than normal. This was the lowest minimum temperature in Delhi after 2010. Aya Nagar came in second place where the minimum temperature was recorded at 2.7 degrees Celsius.
