Pradyut will strengthen Assam BJP: CM Himanta

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has reacted to Nagaon Lok Sabha MP Pradyot Bordoloi joining BJP. CM Himanta said, ‘Nagaon MP Pradyot Bordoloi has joined BJP. His history with Congress goes back to 1975. His coming to BJP will strengthen the party. We all welcome him to the party.

CM Himanta said, ‘Assam Pradesh BJP will recommend to the central leadership that he should contest the assembly elections. If there is no reason left for a person to stay in Congress along with his self-respect, then there is no point in staying there. Our aim is to bring more Congress leaders into the party.

Pradyut Bordoloi had resigned from all his posts and primary membership from Congress yesterday itself. He had sent a one-line resignation letter to party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Today, after just 24 hours, he joined BJP. According to sources, the entire team of Assam BJP was active in his joining.

Former State Vice President of Assam Congress will also join BJP

The process of resignation of big leaders one after the other continues in Assam Congress. Former state vice president of the party Navjyoti Talukdar has also resigned from Congress. Navjyoti Talukdar, while talking to the media in Delhi, said, ‘I will go to Assam today and join BJP. Our MP Pradyut Bordoloi is joining BJP today. We have already spoken to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He also indicated that after Pradyut Bordoloi joins BJP, many more Congress leaders may also leave the party. Navjyoti Talukdar has been a senior leader of Assam Congress for a long time. He has also worked on the post of State Vice President.
