Rahul Sharma’s father Jagdish Sharma is considered a grassroots and mass base leader. He was the MLA from Ghosi Assembly seat continuously from 1977 to 2009. After this, he became MP from JDU in 2009. After this, his wife Shanti Sharma became MLA in the by-election. After this, Rahul Sharma remained MLA from Ghosi seat on JDU ticket from 2010 to 2015.
Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jagdish Sharma are old friends
