The troubles of Mukhtar Ansari’s family are not showing signs of decreasing. The Gangster Court in Mau has completely justified the District Magistrate’s order to confiscate property worth crores of Mukhtar Ansari’s absconding wife Afsha Ansari. The court clearly acknowledged that this property was acquired through illegal earnings and criminal activities.
The court of District Mau Special Judge, Gangster Court Rajeev Kumar Vats, while giving a major verdict during the hearing of gangster cases, has confirmed the order passed by the District Magistrate Mau on the attached property of Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afsha Ansari.
Consequences of property obtained from crime – Court
On behalf of the state, Special Public Prosecutor (Gangster Act) Krishna Sharan Singh, citing the documents and evidence presented before the court, said that the land purchased by Afsha Ansari was taken from illegally earned money. The court, after perusing all the documents and arguments, found that the property was entirely the result of crime.
A case was registered against Afsha Ansari and others.
This case is related to Police Station South Tola, Mau, where a case was registered against gang leader Afsha Ansari and other accused under the Gangster Act. During the investigation, illegal assets worth crores (estimated value – ₹ 3.36 crore) in the name of Afsha Ansari were revealed, after which it was confiscated as per the rules.
‘The attachment order is completely legal’
This attachment order was referred to the Gangster Court by District Magistrate Mau. After examining all the records, evidence and arguments of the prosecution, the court held that the property was acquired through crime and hence the attachment order under the Gangster Act is completely valid. Thus, the court’s decision has given great legal strength to the administrative action and the attachment of Afsha Ansari’s property has now been finally confirmed.
