Delhi news: A person was beaten up by some people for allegedly selling cow meat at a grocery store in Vijay Nagar area of the national capital Delhi. Police said on Thursday (May 28) that samples of meat collected from the shop have been sent for forensic examination.
Police said that the complainant in the case is a 15 -year -old minor resident of Vijay Nagar. He claimed that he had bought meat from 44 -year -old Chaman Kumar, a resident of Kaushik Enclave, Burari, at Rs 400 per kg. He said that he later suspected that it is the meat of the cow.
People from many organizations arrived and beat up
The police officer said that after the spread of the sale of suspected beef, members of various organizations gathered outside Chaman Kumar’s shop. Created a ruckus and assaulted him. Police said that medical examination of the injured accused is being conducted.
Police said that after the PCR call, a team was sent to the spot. He informed that CCTV footage is being collected from the surrounding area to know the incident and review it.
Police engaged in investigation
A senior police official said, “Meat samples have been seized from the shop and have been sent to find out whether it is cow meat or not to find out.”
Increased security in the area
The official said, “We are all investigating the matter from the angle. Forensic report is awaited. The police will take action based on its findings.”
The police officer said that the situation in Vijay Nagar is currently under control and additional force has been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
