Shreyas Iyer suffered a rib injury during a catch in the third ODI against Australia. Now news has come that Vice Captain Iyer suffered a serious injury, after which he was admitted to a hospital in Sydney. He is in ICU (Intensive Care Unit). A source with knowledge of the matter told PTI that Iyer suffered internal bleeding and had to be immediately admitted.
The source told PTI, “Shreyas Iyer is at the ICC. After the report revealed internal bleeding, he had to be immediately admitted to the hospital. Depending on his recovery, he will be kept under observation for 2 to 7 days as it was necessary to prevent the spread of infection due to bleeding.”

The source said in the report, “The team doctor and physio admitted him to the hospital without taking any risk, now he is stable, but it could have been fatal. He is very strong and will recover soon.”
