Irfan wrote on social media, “Shubman Gill’s form is a matter of concern before the T20 World Cup. Hopefully he will get into rhythm soon, otherwise Team India may be in trouble.”
Sanju Samson was thrown out and got the responsibility
Gill’s return brought about a big change in the team’s combination. To make room for Gill, Sanju Samson, who was opening well, was sent down and later dropped from the playing eleven. The team management expressed confidence in Gill, but now this decision may prove costly for India. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Samson was doing well earlier, hence Gill getting continuous opportunities has now become a topic of discussion.
