Generally, body pain or fatigue is considered normal with increasing age, but there are some symptoms which require immediate attention. Dr. Kubs said that even seemingly minor symptoms like back pain, constant fatigue, weight loss and sore throat can be early signs of cancer.

Back pain is often linked to age or muscle weakness, but if the pain is persistent or feels deep, it could be a symptom of cancer. Especially when the pain is not related to any activity, increases at night or in the morning, or does not improve even after treatment.

Fatigue or weakness can also be a serious sign. According to Dr. Kubes, if you feel tired continuously even after adequate sleep and rest, then it could be the result of the activity of cancer cells in the body. Cancer cells use the body’s energy and nutrients to grow themselves.

If this fatigue persists for a long time and is accompanied by symptoms like weight loss, fever or pain, then a doctor should be immediately examined. Sometimes this is an early sign of some internal cancer.

Weight loss without effort is also a warning. If weight loss is occurring without diet or exercise, it may be related to cancer of the pancreas, lungs, stomach or esophagus. However, there can be other reasons behind weight loss like stress or hormonal changes.

If throat pain persists for more than three weeks, do not ignore it as a common cold and cough. According to Dr. Kubs, if the voice becomes hoarse along with pain, there is difficulty in swallowing or pain in the ear is felt, then it can be a sign of throat cancer.

Experts say that the body always gives signals. The only difference is how quickly we recognize them. If any kind of abnormal symptom persists for a long time, it is important to consult a doctor, because only timely examination and treatment can save life.
