What Are The Early Signs Of Dehydration: There is not much discussion about how much water to drink, how often to drink it and when not to drink it, but it keeps every cell of the body alive. About 60 percent of an adult’s body is made up of water. Even a slight lack of water can affect mood, memory, skin and digestion. The problem is that thirst is not always an early warning signal. By the time the mouth starts becoming dry, the body is already suffering from lack of water. Let us tell you when you should drink water.

Why is it important for us to drink water?

According to the World Health Organization, adequate water is essential for proper body temperature, blood flow and proper functioning of organs. Dehydration can happen rapidly, especially during hot weather, illness or excessive physical activity. It does not always come with serious symptoms, but comes in the form of minor everyday inconveniences.

What are the signs of water shortage?

Persistent fatigue that does not go away even after complete sleep may be a sign of dehydration. When there is less fluid in the body, the blood volume decreases, due to which the heart has to work harder. This can also affect concentration. According to the report of the National Institute of Health, a gradually increasing mild headache is also an early sign of dehydration. Lack of water can cause temporary shrinkage of brain tissue, causing changes in pressure and pain. Skin feeling lifeless and tight can also be a sign. This is indicated by the appearance of more stretch marks or fine lines in the skin after washing the face. Try gently stretching the skin of the hand, if it takes time to return to normal, the body may be dehydrated.

Indication is also available from urine

The color of urine also tells a lot. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, a US health information organization, light yellow color is considered normal, but dark yellow or strong smelling urine is a sign of fluid deficiency. Similarly, constipation or slow digestion may also be related to not getting enough water, because the intestines absorb water from stool. Sudden craving for sweets is also sometimes linked to dehydration. The body uses water to release glucose for energy, and a deficiency can increase fatigue. Muscle cramps or sudden dizziness may also be a sign of electrolyte imbalance.

Most experts recommend 2 to 3 liters of fluid a day for adults, although the amount of water you should drink depends on your age, season and activity.
