America has been closely seen with Pakistan in recent times. Prominent Baloch human rights activist Mir Yar Baloch has written a letter to US President Donald Trump, calling for his relations with a radical state like Pakistan to think again. Mir Yar Baloch has also urged the US President to recognize and support Balochistan.
Mir Yar Baloch wrote in his letter, ‘We want to draw your attention on the upcoming US visit of Pakistan Army Chief General Aseem Munir. Munir leads an institution that is involved in human rights violations in Pakistan -occupied Balochistan. The Pakistani Army and its intelligence agency ISI have not only disappeared more than 40,000 Baloch citizens, but have also been active in sheltering global terrorists including Osama bin Laden.
On which legal or moral grounds Pakistan claims?
It is written in the letter, ‘We urge you to ask General Munir respectfully to ask you on which legal or moral grounds that Pakistan claims on the natural wealth of Balochistan, can it claim any such store in Punjab province?’
Addressing the US President on behalf of the Baloch community, Mir wrote, ‘Balochistan is an ancient sovereign nation of illegal occupied Iran, which is subject to oppressive rule despite being rich in rare minerals, oil, gas, strategic geography, airports and marine ports. Our secular and peaceful traditions are suppressed.
Pakistan always played double game
Baloch worker wrote, ‘After the 9/11 terror incident, America made a big mistake by trusting Pakistan. Pakistan has always played a double game. Instead of strengthening secular groups opposing extremism such as Baloch, Sindhi and Pashtun, the former US government has supported the Pakistani Army, while the Pakistani army promotes terror and fundamentalism.
Mir wrote in the letter, ‘Under the supervision of ISI, training centers of many terrorist organizations like ISIS and Daish have increased in recent months, which has posed a big threat to regional and global security. Pakistan suppresses the valid aspirations of 6 crore Baloch people. Baloch people have always upheld the tradition of religious tolerance and co-existence.
‘America Israel Murdabad’ in public programs
In the letter, he further wrote, ‘We do not have any malice towards Hindus, Jews, Christians, Buddhists or followers of any other religion. In contrast, elements within the Pakistani Army and its intelligence agency, ISI have constantly exploited radical religious groups to promote anti-Western sentiments. Mir Baloch has asked through the letter whether the US will continue to support the government machinery promoting enmity, which raises slogans of ‘America Israel Murdabad’ in public programs.
The human rights activist urged the Trump administration to initiate direct negotiations with the Trump administration to start a direct interaction under the leadership of freedom-supporting Baloch leadership and representatives, who are committed to peace, economic development and regional stability under the leadership of Baloch nationalist leader Hirbayar Marri and President of the Free Balochistan Movement. At the end of the letter, Mir has hoped the US to pay attention to the justified purpose.
