According to the CIA and Digital 2025 report, five major countries of the world are at the top in mobile phone usage. Among these, China is at first place. By 2023, there are approximately 1.81 billion mobile phone users in China, while the country’s population is approximately 1.4 billion. This means that many people are using more than one mobile phone or multiple SIM cards. This trend has increased rapidly in China due to digital payments, online entertainment, e-commerce and social networking.

India’s second number

India is at second place in this list. There are approximately 1.09 billion mobile phone subscribers, which is equivalent to approximately 93% of the country’s population. Cheap data plans, low cost mobiles and huge young population are the major reasons behind the increasing popularity of smartphones in India. Digital payments, online education and entertainment are also increasing mobile usage.

What is the position of America and Russia?

The situation is a little different in America. There are approximately 411 million mobile phone users here, which means every American has more than one mobile phone on average. Here smartphones are widely used for social media, streaming and everyday online services.

Talking about Russia, there are 245 million mobile phone users, while the population is about 146 million. This means that on an average every person uses 1.5 mobile phones. Of these, about 133 million people use the Internet regularly.

Bumper craze of mobile in Indonesia also

The mobile craze is even more in Indonesia. By 2023, there were 352 million mobile phone users, while the total population is only 285 million. This means that every person has an average of 1.2 mobile phones. The young and tech savvy population is highly dependent on smartphones for essential services and emergency communications.
