Thanks to the stormy batting of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan, Mumbai achieved a historic run chase against Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After playing first in this match, Haryana had scored 234 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Mumbai chased the target by scoring 238 runs in just 17.3 overs. This is the second biggest run chase of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Yashasvi Jaiswal played an important role in defending champion Mumbai’s four-wicket victory over Haryana by scoring a century in 48 balls in the Super League B match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Sunday. After a one-sided defeat against Hyderabad in their first match of the Super League, Mumbai chased Haryana’s target of 235 runs and won by scoring 238 runs for six wickets in 17.3 overs with the innings of Jaiswal (101 runs in 50 balls) and Sarfaraz Khan (64 runs in 24 balls).
Jaiswal and Sarfaraz kept Mumbai’s hopes of qualifying for the final alive by adding 88 runs in just 6.1 overs. During the award distribution ceremony after the match, Jaiswal also called Sarfaraz along with him to receive a check of Rs 50,000 for the best player of the match. For Mumbai, Ajinkya Rahane played an inning of 21 runs in 10 balls.

Earlier, Haryana captain Ankit Kumar (89 runs in 42 balls) and talented all-rounder Nishant Sindhu (63 runs in 38 balls) added 110 runs in just 8.1 overs, taking the team to 234 runs for three wickets in 20 overs.
Haryana’s fast bowlers bowled at a speed of 125 to 130 km per hour, which made it easy for Mumbai’s batsmen to score runs on the flat pitch. Jaiswal played pull and ramp shots. He hit 16 fours in his innings. Sarfaraz also strengthened his claim for the IPL auction with a half-century in just 16 balls.
