Apart from this, rats and other small creatures also hide under ivy and where there are rats, there are bound to be snakes. Moisture, coolness and darkness under the ivy, these three things create an unfavorable environment for snakes.

English ivy not only attracts snakes, it is also a threat to the walls of the house. Its roots and vines penetrate the walls, between bricks or into the siding of the house, drawing moisture and gradually weakening the structure. That means this plant is definitely beautiful, but it can harm both the strength and security of the house.
If you already have English ivy in your garden
The best approach is to remove the plant completely. But this is not easy, because ivy spreads very fast and cleaning has to be done frequently. If you do not want to remove it, then take these measures-
- Cut the vines to about two feet above the ground, so that there is no shelter below for snakes.
- Always keep the surrounding area clean, keep removing layers like dry leaves, garbage and net.
- It is necessary for sunlight and air to come and go.
