Before voting in Bihar Assembly elections, there has been a tinge of religious statements. Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted RJD Chief Lalu Yadav and his family over the video of them celebrating Halloween. Now Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya has hit back at PM Modi’s statement. In the election rally, PM Modi taunted that the royal families of Congress and RJD do not have time to go to Ram temple, but they are celebrating foreign festivals a lot.
There is no harm in celebrating Halloween: Rohini Acharya
On this, Rohini Acharya said, “We have been celebrating all the festivals with the same enthusiasm and spirit. Children were celebrating Halloween and if the people of the house were involved in the happiness of the children, then what is the harm in it. The Prime Minister and the people of BJP-NDA also celebrate festivals like Christmas, Eid, Bakrid and give good wishes, so there is no issue. Is celebrating Halloween an issue? The issue is migration from Bihar, poverty, employment. There should be discussion on these.”
PM Modi’s taunt on Lalu Yadav
Addressing an election rally in Saharsa on Monday (3 November 2025), PM Modi said, “Congress and RJD families are interested in foreign trips and celebrating foreign festivals, but they do not get time to visit Ram temple in Ayodhya and they call Chhath Puja a drama. RJD people are busy in international festivals and insult Chhathi Maiya. Lalu Prasad Yadav called Kumbh useless and grandchildren. Celebrating Halloween together, first kidnapping in Jungle Raj, now kidnapping on Aastha.
‘Made CM’s face by placing a Katta on his temple’
PM Modi had said, “Tejashwi Yadav talks about his father’s legacy, but avoids putting his picture on election posters. After all, what are the sins of that big leader of the so-called Jungle Raj, which this Prince wants to hide? RJD made Tejashwi Yadav the chief ministerial face of the India alliance by placing a dagger on Congress’s forehead and claimed that now Congress wants to take revenge for that insult.”
