11 people lost their lives in the Bengaluru stampede, so far many aspects have been revealed in this case. A commission was formed by the Government of Karnataka under the chairmanship of Justice John Michael D’Kunha for investigation. According to ESPN Cricinfo, the report submitted by the Commission to the Government of Karnataka has been described as inappropriate and insecure for the match or any other event. It was also said in the report that if big programs are organized here in future, then it will be like playing with the safety of the people.
Through this report, the Commission headed by Justice John Michael D’Kunha has convicted Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), event management company DNA Entertainment and Karnataka Cricket Association (KSCA). It was said that the system of conducting emergency exit in the stadium is not correct, the number of entry/exit gates is not sufficient, while there is a lot of traffic on the roads around the stadium and there is not much space for parking.
Crisis hovering on World Cup
This statement of the Commission has come at a time when women ODI World Cup matches are to be played here after a few weeks. Let us know that India and Sri Lanka will be hosting the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 and a total of 4 matches of the tournament are to be played at Chinnaswamy Maidan itself. The first match of the World Cup between India and Sri Lanka is to be played on this ground in Bengaluru.
On the other hand, KSCA has already announced that the state’s T20 franchise competition, Maharaja Trophy will be a close door event. Closed door means that no crowd will be present in the field to see the matches. This tournament is going to start from August 11. IPL and WPL matches have been played on this ground, but after the report of the Commission, the Chinnaswamy is seen falling at the stadium.
