In this video that went viral on social media, he is shown riding his bike worth Rs 17 lakh in Bandra area, which has raised concerns about road safety and following traffic rules. Now Sohail has apologized by writing a post after being trolled for riding a bike without a helmet.
Sohail Khan appealed to people to wear helmet
Sohail, who was trolled after the video of riding a bike without a helmet went viral, has issued a statement on his Instagram account. Admitting his mistake, the actor appealed to other bike riders to give priority to safety. He wrote, “I request all bike riders to wear a helmet. I feel suffocated, so sometimes I don’t wear a helmet, but that doesn’t mean I don’t wear a helmet. Riding a bike has been my passion since childhood. It started with a BMX cycle and now I ride a bike. I mostly ride a bike late at night when there is traffic. It is less, so that the risk is less and that too at a slow speed, and my car follows me.”
Sohail apologized to traffic authorities
In the same post, Sohail assured fellow riders and traffic officials that he will try his best to follow the rules from now on. He wrote, “I assure fellow riders that I will try my best to overcome my claustrophobia (fear of closed spaces) and wear a helmet, so please support me. I wholeheartedly apologize to the traffic officials and assure them that I will follow all the rules from now on. I salute all the riders who wear helmets all the time despite the inconvenience, because it is necessary for our safety. It is only in taking precautions. Oh my goodness, again, I’m so sorry.”
Sohail Khan has often talked about his long-standing hobby of riding bikes, which he says dates back to his childhood. However, the recent incident has rekindled a wider debate online about celebrity responsibility and road safety, especially in a city known for heavy traffic and frequent accidents.
