Solar Storm: 27 solar storms arose from the Sun in 24 hours, how much danger is there to the Earth, why the tension increased

A very large and dangerous sunspot formed on the Sun is increasing the concern of scientists these days. This sunspot has been named Region 4366. In the past two days, it has released several bright solar flares, including some of the most powerful in recent years. According to the Space Weather Prediction Center of the American agency NOAA, geomagnetic activity on Earth may increase on February 5. Due to this, Northern Lights i.e. Aurora can be visible even in normal areas, although this has not been completely confirmed yet.

Region 4366 suddenly emerged on the surface of the Sun a few days ago and spread very rapidly. Its size is said to be approximately half the size of the sunspot of the historic Carrington Event of 1859. The storm that came at that time had a huge impact on the earth. Due to its rapid growth, this sunspot has become extremely unstable. In the last 24 hours alone, more than 20 solar flares have emerged from it, which include many M-class and X-class flares. X-class flames are considered the most powerful.

Biggest solar explosion in two years

On Sunday at around 6:57 pm, a solar flare of X8.1 category emerged from this sunspot. This is considered to be the fastest blaze since October 2024. After this, interruption in radio communications was recorded in the South Pacific area. With this explosion, a large cloud of gas and particles also came out from the Sun, which is called Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). Scientists believe that if this CME passes near the Earth, there may be a disturbance in the Earth’s magnetic field. Due to this, colorful auroras can be seen in the sky. However, there may also be problems with radio, GPS and satellite systems. According to NASA, the Sun is currently in the fastest phase of its 11-year active cycle, which may continue until 2026. More such solar storms may be seen in the coming times.
