Earlier this year, Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife by an intruder who entered his house in Pali Hill in Bandra, Mumbai. In this incident, the actor suffered several wounds near his spinal cord, due to which he had to stay in the hospital for a week. However, fans’ attention was drawn by Saif’s calm nature while coming out of the hospital. Wearing a white shirt and jeans, Saif Ali Khan looked completely healthy.
While many people appreciated his patience, some on social media even termed the incident of knife attack on the actor as “fake”. Now Saif has finally broken his silence on this entire matter.
,i panic or Do not create panic wanted to do’
In Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle, Saif opened up about the incident and the events that followed. When host Kajol asked how he came out of the hospital despite serious injuries, Saif shared his thoughts. He said, “When it was over, there were a few people coming by. Lots of advice on how to go… The media was excited. And I was… because no one was listening to me. Because I said, ‘Listen, if the media is curious, we should settle this and let me out of the hospital because I can walk. It was very bad, but it was OK. They put stitches and I stayed there for a week. The back was OK. It was painful to walk, but I could walk. There was no need for a wheelchair.”
Saif further said that his conscience advised him not to dramatize the situation. He said, “Someone said, ‘You should go in an ambulance. Someone said, ‘You should go in a wheelchair. And my conscience said, why create any kind of panic or worry with the family, fans, well-wishers or anyone? Just go out and send a pic and message that you are fine.’
Saif reacted to social media trollsNo
However, his decision sparked debate online, with many users calling the incident fake. Responding to the trolling, Saif said, “That was the idea, but there were so many reactions on it that it is a lie and it is true, but we live in such a world. But that is why I did it.”
Twinkle Khanna also told during the chat that she had spoken to Saif’s mother Sharmila Tagore, who also suggested him to use a wheelchair. Sharmila had reportedly told Twinkle, “I asked him to go in a wheelchair, but why doesn’t he listen to me?”
