Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev reached Sangam for bath on Thursday during the ongoing Magh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Baba Ramdev drank the water of holy rivers at Sangam Ghat and then also participated in the aarti held at the ghat. Meanwhile, he termed the misbehavior with Swami Avimukteshwarananda in the Magh Mela as wrong and said that such behavior is unacceptable to anyone.
On the ill-treatment meted out to Swami Avimukteshwarananda at the Magh Mela, he said, “It is very unfortunate that even our own yogis and revered saints have to face abusive or abusive language. Such behavior is unacceptable, not only for Shankaracharya, but for any sadhu. Making such comments about anyone is condemnable and shameful. Every man should take care of his own pride and dignity.”

Baba Ramdev said that we consider Shankaracharya ji to be the Vigrahaman form of Lord Shankar, so we expect that there should be no dispute from Shankaracharya ji’s side. He is a saint, what can he dispute about, at least he cannot dispute in any religious place, what can he dispute about in a pilgrimage. There should be no bathing dispute here, nor should there be any palanquin dispute. What a saint is one who is proud? Only one who has destroyed his pride becomes a saint. Some want to Islamize the country, some want to Christianize it, some want to make Ghazwa-e-Hind, there are many enemies of Sanatan outside, so at least we should not fight among ourselves.
He further said that Magh Mela is only for name, chanting and penance. It is said here that an arrogant person can never become a saint. Even in pilgrimages, some people go with their own agenda. I feel that pilgrimage should not be an agenda of anyone’s ego or prestige. This is the place of three sacred rivers, the place of salvation.
Coming to Triveni Sangam is a big blessing in itself – Baba Ramdev
On the experience of bathing in Sangam, he said, “Bathing and charity have special significance in Triveni Sangam. Coming to Triveni Sangam is a big blessing in itself. Divine order, sacred philosophy and spiritual atmosphere prevail at Sangam Ghat. Our Prayagraj is the Tirtharaj, and the way CM Yogi is organizing the Magh Mela by fulfilling the Devvrat of this pilgrimage place with his restraint, his penance, his yoga, his spirituality and his Raj Dharma. It is a joy to our soul.”
There was a clash between the disciple of Avimukteshwaranand and the police administration.
Let us tell you that on January 17, on the day of Magh Amavasya, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand had come to take bath in the holy river with the chariot and the entire army, where the police administration asked him to proceed without the chariot. In this matter, there was a heated clash between Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand and his disciple and the police administration. Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand accused the administration that this treatment towards him was done deliberately, due to which his honor and respect has been hurt. Since this incident, Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand has been sitting on strike in the Magh Mela itself.
