Once again the weather is going to take a turn in the country. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert on Saturday. This alert is for the states of South India. Big changes will be seen in the weather here in the next two days. At the same time, increase in temperature in North India has also been estimated by IMD.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm in many states of South India in the next two days. At the same time, the temperature will increase in North India. Heavy rain conditions may occur in South India between 21st and 23rd February.
Heavy rain forecast in Tamil Nadu and Kerala
According to IMD, heavy rain is expected in other areas of South Indian state Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Apart from this, there will be strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour and storm conditions in these areas.
Situation expected to remain even more serious in maritime areas
Apart from this, the situation in marine areas is expected to remain more serious. The wind speed here is expected to be 40 to 50 km per hour, which can even reach 60 km per hour. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert regarding this. Especially the situation is expected to be more serious in the Gulf of Manar, the maritime areas associated with Sri Lanka, and the southern maritime areas of Andaman.
There will be increase in temperature in North India
Unlike South India, there will be an increase in the weather temperature in North India. According to IMD, the temperature here is expected to increase by 3 to 4 degrees in the next 6 days. Apart from this, the minimum increase is expected to be 2 to 3 degrees.
Light rain and snowfall in hilly areas
Apart from this, there will be light rain or snowfall in the hilly areas. Rain and snowfall is expected in some areas of Himachal around February 23. Apart from these, there will be similar weather in Uttarakhand between 22nd to 24th February. Apart from this, severe cold weather is expected in the upper areas of these areas.
Meteorological Department’s advisory for farmers of South India
The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for farmers. In this, an advisory has been issued to the farmers of Tamil Nadu and Kerala that they should harvest the paddy crop in advance and keep it in safe places. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to store bananas, vegetables and horticulture crops at safe places.
