Since Sonakshi Sinha’s marriage with Zaheer Iqbal, rumors of her pregnancy have been rife. In October, Sonakshi dismissed these rumors through a funny Instagram post. He wrote in the caption of the post, “World record holder for the longest pregnancy in human history.”

At Ramesh Taurani’s Diwali party, her husband Zaheer Iqbal got a picture clicked for the paparazzi by placing his hand on her stomach. While pretending to confirm the pregnancy, she humorously targeted the rumours. Now Sonakshi Sinha has talked about her pregnancy rumors in an interview.

What did Sonakshi Sinha say on pregnancy rumors?,
In fact, during an interview with News18 Shosha, Sonakshi Sinha said, “I did not make any joke. The media just keeps making fun of me. They keep thinking that I am pregnant! When I will be pregnant, I will be the first to tell the world that friends, now I am pregnant, shut up.”

nothing changed after marriage
Let us tell you that Sonakshi and Zaheer got married in June 2024 after dating for almost seven years. She says that she is happy that nothing has changed after marriage, especially in terms of her work and career. While Bollywood often sidelines married actresses, Sonakshi is happy that she is still working with the same enthusiasm and energy as before. “They (female artistes of the earlier generation) used to run so that we could run. Today, I cannot even imagine that I am married and hence I will not get any work. This thought also does not come to my mind. I cannot think in that direction at all. Marriage is a part of life, as they say.”

Marriage is not a barrier in any profession
She further says, “Marriage does not hinder any other profession. Today, if a female journalist is getting married, she will not suddenly stop working. There will be no pause in her working life. Salute to those women artistes before us who have paved the way for us.” When asked whether this means that ageism has disappeared from the film industry too? “This obsession with youth exists to some extent,” she says. “But I think most people have moved on from it now. They’re willing to ignore it.”

Roles are being written for women of all ages
To reiterate her opinion, she cites the example of Jaya Bachchan, who made her comeback with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and will now be seen in Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling. Sonakshi said, “Today, roles are being written for women of all ages, some beautiful too. We are now living in an era where new actresses of 17 and 18 years of age are also making their debut. Also, Jaya ji and Shabana (Azmi) ji are also working. I think it is great to say that every woman is coming into her own, making her own space and putting life into it.”
