Sonam Kapoor has recently posted a lovely video of her baby shower on Instagram. In the video, all the family members are seen smiling and blessing Sonam. On this occasion, he performed the old tradition of Sanatan Dharma ‘Seemantonnayan’ and by sharing the video he also explained its importance.
Sonam wrote in the caption, ‘Seemantonnayan’ is the third sanskar among the sixteen sacred sanskars of Hindu religion, which honors the mother and the life in her womb. In different parts of India, it is known by names like Godbharai, Srimanta, Dohale Jevan, Shaad, Seemantam, Valaikappu, Seemantha, Pulikkudi and Sadabakshan. The names may be different, but it means love, protection and blessings for the mother and the coming child.
Why is this ritual special for Sonam?
Sonam further wrote that this ceremony became more special for her because her best friends and entire family were present on this happy occasion. She thanked her mother, mother-in-law and sister, who managed everything well and made her feel very loved and respected. Sonam said that she will never forget this day.
Let us tell you that Sonam Kapoor married businessman Anand Ahuja on 8 May 2018. In August 2022, she became the mother of a son, named Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. Sonam had a normal delivery of her first child on time.
