Sonia Gandhi has been suffering from chronic cough for a long time and due to increasing pollution in Delhi, she keeps coming to the hospital for check-up from time to time. In the last few years, Sonia Gandhi has had to go to the hospital several times due to health related issues. A few months ago, he was admitted to this hospital due to stomach related problem. During that admission in February, she remained under the supervision of a gastroenterology expert for a day. Earlier on June 19 also, Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital after treatment for stomach ailment. He was admitted on June 15 after complaining of stomach infection and his condition was continuously monitored for about four days.

On June 7 also, Sonia Gandhi had reached Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. He was brought there for routine checkup due to minor health problems.
