Sonu nigam statement: A case has been registered against Sonu Nigam in Bengaluru. He has been accused of hurting the sentiments of the Kannada community in a concert. In such a situation, Sonu Nigam has released a statement on social media and presented a clarification. He has talked about his patriotism and love about the Kannada community.

In a post on Instagram, Sonu Nigam wrote- ‘Hello, I have given a lot of love to language, culture, music, musicians, state and people, not only when I was in Karnataka, but anywhere in the world. In fact, I have given more respect to my Kannada songs than songs in other languages including Hindi. There are hundreds of videos on social media as proof.

‘I am in front of thousands of people in the name of language …’
Sonu Nigam further said- ‘I have more than an hour of Kannada songs which I prepare for every music event in Karnataka. However, I am not a young man who bear insulting someone, I am 51 years old, I am in another part of my life and I have the right to believe that my son is as young as he is, he threatens me directly in front of thousands of people in the name of language, that too in Kannada, which is my second language in terms of my work. That too just after my first song of the music event!

‘They create a ruckus and wild me …’
Singer further said about threatening boys- ‘He provoked some more people. His own people were embarrassed and asking him to keep quiet. I told him with great humility and love that the show has just started, this is my first song and I will not disappoint them, but they will have to let me continue the concert as I have planned. Every artist has prepared a list of songs so that musicians and technicians can keep pace. But they were intent on creating a ruckus and threatening me wildly. Tell me who is guilty in this? ‘

‘As a patriot, I …’
Sonu Nigam again wrote- ‘As a patriot, I hate all those who try to spread hatred in the name of language, caste or religion, especially what happened in Pahalgam, after that I had to explain them and I did it and thousands of students and teachers accepted me for it. The matter was over and I sang Kannada for more than an hour. All this is on social media.

Leave the decision on the people of Karnataka
Finally, the singer wrote- ‘I leave this to the sensible people of Karnataka to decide who is guilty here. I will accept your decision politely. I fully respect the law agencies and police of Karnataka and trust them and will follow whatever will be expected from me. I have got divine love from Karnataka and whatever your decision, I will always keep it without any malice.
