Former captain of the Indian cricket team Sourav Ganguly has been elected president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). He was in this post till 2019, after 6 years he has been appointed to this post again. Ganguly also held the post of President of BCCI from 2019 to 2022. After becoming CAB President, he said to increase the capacity of Eden Gardens Stadium to 1 lakh on Monday. He also included the hosting of important matches of the T20 World Cup in his priorities.
Sourav Ganguly was elected unopposed the next president at the 94th annual general meeting of the Cricket Association of Bengal on Monday. He has been the CAB President from 2015 to 2019, he left the post before becoming BCCI President. After which Aishtek Dalmiya became the new president.

Ganguly has promised that the return of Test cricket at Eden Gardens will ensure smoothly. Let us know that in October, Bengal team will play 2 matches of Ranji Trophy with Uttarakhand and Gujarat. Tests will be played between India and South Africa here in November.
After being appointed to the post, Ganguly said that his first responsibility will have to be prepared for India vs South Africa Test. After the pink ball test against Bangladesh in 2019, there will be the first Test here. The day and night test started with a pink ball in India while holding the post of president of Sourav Ganguly.
Ganguly said, “This will be a good test, because South Africa has recently become the World Test Champion by defeating Australia in the final. Everything exists in the Eden Gardens Stadium. Good pitches, good fans and infrastructure are also good. Both India and South Africa are good teams, so I am sure that it will be a good test.”
Ganguly will represent Cab in BCCI meeting
Sourav Ganguly told that he will be discussed soon with the new team members of BCCI. Ganguly said, “I will talk to the BCCI. They are not even members. I wish the new BCCI president.
The annual general meeting of BCCI will be held on 28 September. Ganguly will represent CAB in this. On increasing the capacity of Eden Gardens Stadium, Ganguly said that it will be only after next year’s T20 World Cup. it will take time.
