Sourav Ganguly on Rishabh Pant: Rishabh Pant has recently been elected vice -captains of the Indian Test team. Now former India captain Sourav Ganguly has advised the new Vice-Captain. Pant has become a victim of criticism for playing his careless shots several times before, now Ganguly has given him important advice just before the Test series against England. Ganguly is also not happy with Pant’s shot selection in Australia and wants him to play responsibly in England.
Sourav Ganguly’s advice
In talks with Rev Sports, Sourav Ganguly said that he did not like Rishabh Pant’s shot selection in Australia. ‘Dada’ says that Rishabh Pant should focus on playing firmly instead of rotating the bat on each ball.
Sourav Ganguly said, “I did not like the game that Pant showed in Australia. He was trying to play a lot of shots. He was turning the bat on each ball, where the ball is moving, it is not a good way to play in such circumstances. They have to fight the fight.”
Rishabh Pant scored 576 runs in the year 2024 at an average of 36 by playing 9 Test matches. In the Test last year, he scored a century and 3 half -centuries. At the same time, he was able to score only 255 runs in 10 innings in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. In these 10 innings, Pant was able to put only one fifty. It was also a note to be noted that he was caught out 8 times out of 10 due to playing bad shots.
The IPL 2025 season was not very good for Rishabh Pant as he scored 269 runs in 14 matches for LSG. Pant has been made vice -captain, but Dhruv Jurlel, who is going as a backup wicketkeeper on the England tour, is running in excellent form. As a wicketkeeper, Dhruv Jurael can also win the Test series against England.
