South Delhi Superstars won the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2025 (WDPL) title on Sunday. The team defeated Central Delhi Queens by a close margin of one run in the final match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium. The team of South Delhi Superstars, who came out to bat first in the match, scored 121 runs losing 8 wickets.
Tanishka Singh shared a 27 -run partnership for the first wicket in 3.5 overs with Shivi Sharma. Tanishka was dismissed for 14 runs in 13 balls, after which Shivi Sharma scored 48 runs for the second wicket with Tanisha Singh.
Tanisha Singh returned to the pavilion after scoring 28 runs in 23 balls with the help of four fours, while Shivi Sharma scored 29 runs in 36 balls with one six and two fours.
Captain Shweta Sehrawat landed at number four to bat. He played the innings of 34 runs in 24 balls and brought the team to a challenging score. On behalf of the opposition team, Nidhi Mahato, Priya Mishra and Sachi hunted two each.
In response, Central Delhi Queens could score 120 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled overs. The team started very poorly in the title match. Sonia Khatri (1) was dismissed when the team could score only 2 runs in 1.2 overs. From here, Deeksha Singh tried to handle the team by scoring 27 runs for the second wicket with Sachi.
Sachi was dismissed for 17 runs in 22 balls, while Deeksha added 23 runs in 26 balls to the team’s account. Apart from these, Monica scored 33 runs, while Riya scored an innings of 28 runs, but the team won very close and missed the trophy.
Meritorious Bidhuri took the most three wickets from the winning team, while Himakshi Chaudhary got two successes. Apart from these, Deeksha Nagar, Tanisha Singh and Shweta Sehrawat took one wicket each.
