SP Leader Azam Khan Pension: The Allahabad High Court has granted him bail on the petition of senior leader of the jailed Samajwadi Party Azam Khan. Azam Khan had filed a criminal appeal in the Allahabad High Court against a 10-year sentence from MP-MLA court of Rampur in a case related to Dungpur in Rampur. Pension from UP Assembly
Azam Khan has been an MLA for a total of 10 times. Former MLAs in Uttar Pradesh get a basic pension of 25,000 per month. About 2000-3000 rupees per month is added to every additional tenure. Apart from this, dearness allowance is available separately. According to this, Azam Khan should get only about 40,000-45,000 per month.
Pension from Parliament
Azam Khan has also been an MP once. Former MPs from Parliament get a basic pension of 25,000 per month. Apart from this, this amount can usually reach 35,000-40,000 per month after adding dearness allowance.
Azam Khan’s monthly pension should be from 75,000 to 85,000 per month on adding pension of both the posts. Not only this, they also get health facilities and some travel allowances. That is, despite being out of active politics, Azam Khan has regular income from pension.
Democracy fighter pension stopped
Azam Khan used to get a pension of Rs 20,000 every month under the Uttar Pradesh government’s democracy pension scheme. The scheme was launched for the leaders who had jailed during the Emergency, but in March 2021, the Yogi government stopped this pension citing several criminal cases registered against him.
Where do you earn from where?
According to the reports, in the 2019 Lok Sabha election affidavit, Azam Khan had mentioned agriculture, business, own work and pension in his sources of income. After this, the same details were also found in the affidavit of the 2022 assembly elections. Apart from this, his wife Tanzin Fatima has also been a former MLA and MP, whose income and pension also join the family’s income. According to affidavits, they have land, houses and investments worth crores of rupees.
