In view of the increasing crowd of passengers on the occasion of New Year, special bus services are being started from Noida Bus Depot to major cities of Uttarakhand. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) will run additional buses to Haridwar, Dehradun, Kotdwar and Haldwani from December 30. This facility will be available for about a week, so that the travelers going to Uttarakhand on New Year can get relief.

According to Transport Corporation officials, every year a large number of people head towards Haridwar, Dehradun, Kotdwar and Haldwani for New Year celebrations. Keeping this in mind, this time also the number of buses has been increased. Presently a total of 305 buses are operating in Noida and Greater Noida depots, out of which 188 buses come under Noida depot only.

Do online ticket booking like this

All the buses of Noida depot are ordinary and CNG operated. Regular bus services are already running from the depot to many cities of the state. For the convenience of passengers, there is a system of online ticket booking in all buses. Passengers can easily book seats by visiting the official website of Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation www.upsrtc.up.gov.in.

Regional Manager (Gautam Budh Nagar) Manoj Kumar said that at present four buses to Haridwar, four to Kotdwar, one to Dehradun and one to Haldwani are being run regularly from Noida depot. From December 30, 2 to 3 additional buses will be run temporarily for each city, so that the passengers do not face any problem.

Will have to go to Delhi or Ghaziabad for AC buses

However, Noida depot does not have any air-conditioned (AC) buses of its own. Passengers availing the facility of AC buses will have to board the bus from the bus stands of Delhi or Ghaziabad. AC buses for Haridwar, Dehradun, Kotdwar and Haldwani operate from there and do not pass through Noida depot.

At the same time, seats in most of the trains going to hilly areas are already full. Limited seats are available in some trains. In such a situation, bus travel has emerged as a better option for those passengers who have not got tickets in the train.

It is also worth noting that bus service is not available from Noida depot to long distance hilly states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu. For these places also, passengers will have to depend on the bus stands of Delhi.
