Electricity consumers are going to get big relief in Uttar Pradesh from Monday (1st December). On the instructions of the UP government, Electricity Bill Relief Scheme 2025-26 is being started for 90 days, preparations have been made to give bumper rebate to the electricity defaulters under this scheme. In which along with 100 percent rebate in interest on electricity bill, relief will also be given on the principal amount.
The electricity bill relief scheme will run from 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026. Both domestic and commercial consumers will be eligible for this scheme. In which domestic consumers up to 2 kW and shopkeeper consumers up to 1 kW have been included. In this, the facility to pay the bill in easy installments will also be provided.
Big relief plan in electricity bill
The objective of this scheme is to provide relief to consumers from the burden of electricity bills. So that they can find solutions to electricity related problems in an easy and simple way. In this scheme, along with 100% interest rebate on electricity bills, huge rebate of up to 25% on the principal amount will be given.

Apart from this, arrangements have also been made for 100% rebate in surcharge/interest and facility to pay the electricity bill in small easy installments. There is a provision for the system to automatically reduce the increased bills according to the average consumption and also to provide relief and relief from lawsuits in all types of electricity theft cases.

To avail the benefits of this scheme, consumers will have to register themselves first. For this, registration fee of Rs 2000 will have to be paid, this amount will be adjusted in your bill. Consumers can apply for their registration through www.uppcl.org or UPPCL Consumer App, through departmental office, fintech agent, meter reader or public service center.
