Pakistan has refused to play with Team India in the T20 World Cup 2026. Now the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) has urged Pakistan to reconsider its decision of not playing against India. SLC President Shammi Silva stressed on the bad effects that can arise if a big match like India vs Pakistan Match is cancelled.
According to a report published in News Wire, Shammi Silva said in a letter to Pakistan Cricket Board that non-match of India and Pakistan would result in financial loss. He expressed concern that not playing the match with India would have far-reaching consequences. This may cause financial loss, blow to the tourism sector and also hurt the economy of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Board also reminded Pakistan how its team supported Pakistan despite challenging circumstances. After the bomb blast in Islamabad in November last year, some players of the Sri Lankan cricket team wanted to return to their country, but the Sri Lankan Cricket Board has given strict orders to its players to continue the series in Pakistan. Shammi Silva has expressed hope of the same kind of cooperation from PCB. SLC has also assured the players of complete security for the T20 World Cup matches held in their country.
Let us tell you that the match between India and Pakistan is to be played in Colombo on 15th February. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has clearly said that Team India will be present in the field for the World Cup match.
