Sri lanka buddha relaic image: An alleged photo of Lord Buddha’s holy teeth in Sri Lanka has gone viral on social media. After this, the controversy has arisen. Police said that they are investigating how this photo was taken, because the place where this teeth is kept, it is forbidden to carry a mobile phone and camera. This photo is being told of the dental temple of Candy city. After 16 years, the teeth of Lord Buddha were kept in the exhibition to see the people. Now the question is arising that when the phone and camera were not allowed, how was the photo taken?
Police has said that investigation in this matter is going on and the truth will be known only after the completion of the investigation. Acting police chief Priyanta Veerasurya said that preliminary investigation is being done to find out when and how this picture was taken. He said that the help of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will also be taken if needed.
Thousands of devotees reaching the temple
Meanwhile, thousands of Buddhist devotees are arriving in the dental temple of Kandy city to see this rare remains of Lord Buddha. There are several kilometers long queues outside the temple. According to the news agency PTI, 65 -year -old Geetani Mendis, who is the mother of two children, said at the entrance of the temple, “This is a very special occasion. We are able to worship the remnants of the tooth, no matter how long we have to start in queue.”
Why does this dental ingredients matter?
The exhibition was being held after 16 years at the request of President Anura Kumar Disanayak. This dental residue holds special spiritual, historical and cultural significance for 74 percent of Sinhalese Buddhist majority of Sri Lanka with a population of two crore ten million. According to historical records, this dental remains, brought in Candy in 1590, were a symbol of Buddhist faith and gradually became one of the most valuable assets of Sri Lanka. It is said that no one was allowed to see the actual residue of the teeth. In modern times visitors are allowed to see the remains from a distance. The exhibition will be held till 27 April.
