Police lathi -charged the candidates protesting against the alleged irregularities in the SSC examination late Sunday night at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Many students suffered injuries in this action.
Police detained 44 people till late night. The incident has given air to political debate, in which Aam Aadmi Party convenor and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal called it a dictatorship of BJP.

Kejriwal wrote on the social media platform x, “These students were fighting for justice for months due to the disturbances of SSC exam. Instead of hearing their voice, they were lathi -lathi in the dark of night. Think … Think … Those who should have books yesterday, they have bruises on them today.”
He further wrote, “The media was also stopped with coverage. Open hooliganism is going on in the country. Those who question the BJP are being silenced with sticks, are being sent to jail. BJP has made fun of democracy.”

The students allege that they were performing peacefully, but some people suddenly started pushing. According to the students, these people were policemen present in civil dress. Due to this, there was an atmosphere of stampede and chaos.
Delhi Police’s statement and action
According to Delhi Police, around 1500 people gathered at Ramlila Maidan. The administration had directed to end the protest after the deadline, but about 100 people did not withdraw. Despite repeated persuasion, when he stayed, the police took action and detained 44 people. Police say the situation is under control.
