Big news has come for lakhs of youth preparing for government jobs. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released its revised examination calendar for the year 2026-27 recruitment cycle. In this new calendar, the dates of many important examinations have been changed, due to which the candidates have got an opportunity to make a new plan for their preparation. Now candidates can see the complete schedule by visiting the official website of the Commission and can proceed with their studies accordingly.
In the calendar released this time, the dates of many major examinations like Combined Graduate Level (CGL), Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL), GD Constable, Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs, Stenographer and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) have been updated. All these examinations are a big opportunity for lakhs of youth every year to get a government job, hence the news of change in their schedule is considered very important.
If we talk about CGL 2026, its notification will be issued on 31 March 2026, while the application process will continue till 30 April. After this, Tier-1 examination will be conducted between May to June 2026. This examination is considered a major means of getting jobs in different departments of the Central Government. Whereas the notification of CHSL 2026 will be released on 30th April and applications for it can be made till 31st May. Tier-1 of this examination will be conducted between July to September 2026, in which a large number of 12th pass candidates participate.

After this change in dates, candidates may get a chance to further improve their preparation. Students who are already preparing can now change their time table according to the new schedule. Experts also believe that this time is a good opportunity to improve your weaknesses and practice more. Candidates can strengthen their preparation by especially paying attention to mock tests and revision.

Downloading this new exam calendar of SSC is also easy. Candidates first go to the official website of SSC, then go to “For Candidates” section and click on “Examination Calendar”. After this, the complete schedule will appear on the screen, which can be downloaded and kept safe for future.
Commission gave advice
The Commission has advised the candidates to keep an eye on the website from time to time, as other information related to the examination like admit card, examination center and result will also be released here. Also, it is important to fill correct information while applying, so that you do not have to face any problem later.
