Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Jiban Krishna Saha has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team on Monday (August 25, 2025) from Burwan Assembly seat in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Please tell that this arrest has been done during the investigation related to SSC Assistant Teacher Recruitment Scam.
When the ED team reached the MLA Saha’s house, they suddenly tried to run away from the first destination by jumping wall, but the team caught him on the spot. During this time, he threw his mobile phone in a nearby drainage, but the ED officials immediately took it out and recovered it.
Raids on Saha’s house and his close to his closest
According to sources, the ED conducted these raids on Saha’s house and the locations of his close ones. The investigating agency suspects that Saha and the people close to him are with many important evidence related to the recruitment scam.
Apart from the residence of MLA Krishna Saha in Murshidabad, the ED team is also raiding his in -laws in Raghunathganj and his personal assistant in Birbhum district. The agency said that the MLA is being constantly being questioned and he is being taken to Kolkata, where the MLA will be produced in the ED court.
TMC MLA was arrested in 2023
Please tell that even before this, Saha and his family have been questioned in this matter. The ED has also questioned his wife earlier. The CBI arrested the TMC MLA in April 2023 on charges of alleged irregularities in the teacher recruitment scam. The MLA got bail in May 2023.
The agency says that there has been a large amount of money laundering in this scam. Investigation is being done about this. In this case, more names can be revealed further.
