Sai Sudarshan got injured before the Indian team’s Australian tour. This injury to Sudarshan came in the second test between India vs West Indies played in Delhi, in which Team India was victorious by 7 wickets. Due to this injury, Sudarshan will not be able to be a part of the Tamil Nadu team in the first match of Ranji Trophy against Jharkhand. In the second test, Sudarshan scored 87 runs in the first innings and 39 runs in the second innings.
Sai Sudarshan was injured while fielding on the third day of the India vs West Indies Test. After the shot by John Campbell, the ball hit the chest of Sudarshan, who was fielding at short leg position. He did not field in the remaining innings of West Indies, but came to bat on the fourth day. His injury was not described as serious. N Jagadeesan, who was part of the Indian team against West Indies, may soon join the Tamil Nadu team, but due to injury, Sudarshan may sit out of the first match.
Talking about his performance in the Test series against West Indies, Sai Sudarshan could bat in one innings in the first match, in which he could score only 7 runs. But in the second test he scored 126 runs in both the innings combined. Sudarshan was not selected in any squad for T20 and ODI for the Australian tour.
Ranji Trophy starting tomorrow
Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season is going to start tomorrow i.e. from 15th October. Sai Sudarshan’s domestic team Tamil Nadu has been placed in Group A. Along with it, Nagaland, Odisha, defending champion Vidarbha, Andhra, Uttar Pradesh and Baroda are also in Group A. Tamil Nadu last won the Ranji Trophy in 1987-88.
