Stock market started flat to positive, Sensex jumped 200 points while Nifty crossed 25,290.


Stock Market News: On Tuesday, October 14, the second trading day of the week, the Indian stock market started with a green mark. The 30-share BSE Sensex index started trading at 82,404.54 with a rise of 77.49 points or 0.09 percent. At the same time, NSE Nifty 50 also opened with a rise of 50.20 points or 0.20 percent, trading in the green at 25,277.55.

By 9:25 pm, the Sensex was trading at 82,534, up 208 points. Whereas Nifty 50 was trading at 25,298 with a jump of 71 points.

How was the market on Monday?

The first trading session of the week, on October 13, saw a huge fall in the Indian stock market and both the major indices closed in the red. Sensex ended the trading day at 82,327.05 with a fall of 173.77 points or 0.21 percent, while Nifty 50 ended the trading day at 25,227.35 with a fall of 58 points or 0.23 percent. Shares of only 13 out of 30 companies in the Sensex were seen rising. Whereas shares of 17 companies closed trading at red mark.

Adani Port, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Bharti Airtel were the top gainers from BSE basket. The biggest jump was seen in the shares of Adani Port and it was up by 2.04 percent. Talking about the top losers, Tata Motors, Hindustan Unilever, INFY and Power Grid were included.

BSE opened with a fall of 82,049 points in early trade. Nifty 50 also opened with a red mark at 25,177 points.
