Stock Market Today: The fourth trading session of the week in the Indian stock market, the beginning of the trading day on Thursday, December 4, was negative. Major benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened trading in the red. However, both the indices started trading in the green at the beginning of the trading day.
The 30-share BSE Sensex index opened at 84,987.56 points, down 119.25 points or 0.14 percent, while the NSE Nifty 50 opened at 25,981.85, down 4.15 points or 0.02 percent.
By 9:22 am, the Sensex was trading at 85,039 points, down by 67 points, while the Nifty 50 was trading at 25,951, down by 34 points.

How was the market on Wednesday?
On Wednesday, December 3, there was a decline in the Indian stock market and both the major benchmark indices closed trading in the red. Sensex fell by 31.46 points or 0.04 percent to 85,106.81 points, while NSE Nifty 50 slipped by 46.20 points or 0.18 percent and ended the trading day at 25,986.00.
TCS, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and Sun Pharma were the top gainers from the BSE basket. Talking about the top losers, Titan, Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC and SBIN were. A rise was recorded in the shares of Nifty Bank and Nifty IT.
Shares of Midcap 100, Nifty Auto and Nifty Smallcap 100, Nifty 100 and Nifty FMCG closed trading in the red. On Wednesday’s trading day, 10 shares from the BSE basket closed in the green and 20 shares recorded a decline.
