The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken strict action against Dummy schools and has abolished the affiliation of 21 schools in Delhi and Rajasthan. According to media reports, CBSE conducted surprise inspections in 29 schools of Delhi, Bengaluru, Varanasi, Bihar, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh in December 2024. It was found in these inspections that in many schools, students were not present in regular classes, which indicates dummy entry. According to CBSE rules, it is necessary for students to appear regularly in classrooms and fulfill the condition of minimum attendance. The Ministry of Education has also clarified that action will be continued against schools to prevent the practice of dummy entry.
