In today’s world, finding information is easier than ever. As soon as the mobile is opened, the answer to the question is available within a few seconds. Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI now writes the gist of books, prepares essays and even answers difficult questions instantly. But this fast-paced technology has started a new debate in the world of education. The question is whether AI is improving the education of students or is it gradually reducing their habit of thinking on their own and studying deeply.
According to media reports, education experts have been believing for a long time that deep learning is very important to understand any subject. This means not just reading words, but understanding their meaning, asking questions, connecting different ideas and forming one’s own opinion. This process strengthens the mind.
When students read a difficult topic slowly, think about it and try to understand it, only then real learning takes place. But now many teachers are worried that when AI can summarize the book in a few seconds or write the complete answer, will students continue to study as hard?
What is the opinion of experts?
In a report by India Today, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Mumbai, Dr. A.W. Santosh Kumar says that deep learning is still the greatest strength of a human being. According to him, AI can understand language, look at large data and prepare answers quickly. But the machine cannot decide what the real meaning of an idea is or what the right decision should be in a difficult situation.
Danger of trusting machines too much
A big concern of education experts is that students are gradually handing over the task of thinking to machines. To understand this in simple language, when a person gets the answer directly from AI instead of finding the answer by doing hard work himself, his brain does not remain as active.

AI is helpful if used properly
Many teachers also believe that it is not right to consider AI as a complete threat. If it is used properly then it can make studies better. Students can ask AI questions about a topic, understand different perspectives, and then form their own opinions. When students test the answers of AI, find shortcomings in it and improve it with their understanding, then this technology can become a good means of learning.
What is the real challenge?
Education experts believe that today’s real challenge is not whether AI should be adopted or not. The real question is how to strike the right balance between fast technology and deep thinking. AI is fast, it can give multiple answers in a few seconds. But human thinking is slow.
