Odisha government has announced for women on 17 September 2024 Subhadra Yojana Was started, which is a major flagship scheme of the state. Under this, eligible women are given financial assistance of ₹ 10,000 every year, which is transferred directly to the bank account through DBT in two installments – ₹ 5,000 on Raksha Bandhan and ₹ 5,000 on 8 March (International Women’s Day). The current installment was earlier to be released on January 18, but is now being released on January 22, 2026. The last installment was given on August 8, 2025, in which about 1 crore women received ₹5,000 crore. The benefit of the scheme is available to women of 21–60 years of Odisha, whose Aadhaar is linked to the bank and have DBT enabled account. Generally women from families with annual income less than ₹2.5 lakh or NFSA/SFSS card holders are eligible. Income tax payers, government employees, women receiving pension of more than ₹1,500 and big landowners are excluded. Application can be made online subhadra.odisha.gov.in or from Anganwadi, Block Office, Mo Seva Kendra. Beneficiary status can be checked on the website by selecting district, block and ward.
