The Civil Services Examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is considered to be one of the toughest examinations in the country. Every year lakhs of candidates appear in this examination, but only a few get success. Today UPSC released the result of Civil Services Exam. In this, Vivek Kumar, a resident of Motihari in East Champaran district of Bihar, has brought glory to his family and district by securing 882nd rank in his second attempt.
Success in second attempt
Vivek Kumar has secured 882nd rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination in his second attempt. While talking to ABP Live, he told that he could not get success in his first attempt, but he did not give up and continued his preparation. Due to continuous hard work, discipline and correct strategy, he got this great success in the second attempt.
First attempt was given in 2024
Vivek Kumar had given his first attempt for UPSC exam in the year 2024. Although he was not successful in that attempt, he recognized his weaknesses and improved his preparation. After this, in the second attempt given in 2025, he made his hard work successful by securing 882nd rank.
Did BTech from IIT Bombay in 2022
Vivek Kumar completed his BTech from IIT Bombay in the year 2022. It was during his engineering studies that the dream of joining civil services was born in his mind. After completing his studies, he started preparing for UPSC with full seriousness.

Got direction from one year coaching
During UPSC preparation, Vivek Kumar also took coaching for almost a year. Through coaching, they were helped in understanding the exam pattern, syllabus and correct strategy. Along with this, he also laid a lot of emphasis on self-study and kept doing mock tests and revision regularly.

Vivek Kumar is a resident of Motihari (East Champaran) of Bihar. His father is a teacher in Awadhesh Baitha Primary School and his mother’s name is Soni Kumari. Vivek, who grew up in an ordinary family, was encouraged to study since childhood. The cooperation and support of his family always inspired him to move forward.

Vivek Kumar gives credit for his success to his parents and friends. Specially mentioning his friends Ravi and Manoj Kumar, he said that during the difficult times of preparation, both of them boosted his morale and always supported him.
