Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty has approached the Bombay High Court for the protection of personality rights. The actor has demanded from the court that his photos are being used without permission on gambling sites, business sites and many other wrong places, in such a situation, he should be given protection of personality rights.

Sunil Shetty’s lawyer, Senior Advocate Birendra Saraf said that Sunil Shetty is a big name in the film industry and his pictures, videos and deepfake content are being used by different business sites without his permission.
More pictures and videos are being used to advertise the products and increase sales, making it appear that Shetty is associated with these brands or services, whereas in reality he has nothing to do with those brands. This sends a wrong message to the audience regarding the actor’s image.
What is Sunil’s demand?
Deepfake photos are also mentioned in the petition filed by Sunil Shetty. It was told in the petition that recently his privacy was violated by posting fake photos of him and his granddaughter Evara on the sites.
Let us tell you that Evara is the daughter of actor Athiya, whom she gave birth to on 24 March 2025. In the petition, action has been demanded on behalf of Sunil Shetty against the websites. He has requested that even if the entire site is not blocked, the links shared with his full photo should be removed from the sites.
Court will give its verdict soon
The case was heard by the bench of Justice Arif Doctor and he has reserved the case and said that the decision will be given soon. Let us tell you that Sunil Shetty is not the first actor who has approached the court for the protection of personality rights.
Before this, stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar and Asha Bhosle have also gone to court in this case.
